Global Experience.
TDI are market leaders in the design and manufacture of lightweight, sustainable mass transit solutions. We are experts in Very Light Rail and Guided Light Transit systems, using the very latest in material and battery technology to deliver vehicles that are quicker, easier, and more cost-effective to deploy.
Our Journey.
1987
Transport Design International (TDI) created as a trading name of Warwick Design to undertake international projects.
1988
TDI Ltd established in Australia as a joint venture between Warwick Design and Design Resource in Sydney.
1996
TDI worked on London Underground projects since 1990, first retained by LUL to develop new interiors, cabs and front-end designs for Jubilee, Piccadilly and Northern Line tube stock.
2005
Alliance with AVE Rail Projects to provide turnkey design and supply of rail interiors and cabs direct to rolling stock builders.
2009
TDI provides turnkey design and supply of ‘Minitrams’ and light urban transit vehicles.
2011
TDI formalises technical partnership with Vectus Ltd to develop the next generation PRT technology
2013/14
TDI heads up ‘Revolution VLR Consortium’ to develop sustainable, ‘very light rail’ technology and deliver demonstrator vehicle.
2018
TDI secures contract to supply urban VLR vehicle for Coventry City Council.
2021
Launch of Revolution VLR & Coventry VLR vehicles.
2022 - 2023
Further testing and trials of Revolution VLR vehicle.
2024
Three All-Electric Revolution VLR Pre-Series vehicles announced.
2025 Onwards
